Greetland Riven Paving is a genuine yorkstone flag quarried in Bradford, sawn on four sides for clean edges and given a hand-riven face by our own stonemasons. The result is an irregular, tactile natural surface in the characteristic buff-grey tones of West Yorkshire.
Greetland Riven Paving is 35–65mm thick. Because of this natural variation, butt-jointing is not possible — a 10–15mm pointing gap is recommended. The slight variation in thickness is inherent to hand-riven yorkstone and adds to its authentic character.
Greetland Riven Paving is priced per m² and represents genuine British natural stone value. While it costs more than imported riven sandstone, it offers far greater durability and a depth of character that mass-produced alternatives cannot match. See the current price on the product page.
No. The hand-riven surface creates a naturally irregular texture that provides good grip in wet conditions, making it a safe and practical choice for outdoor paths, patios, and terraces throughout the year.
We recommend applying a natural stone sealer to Greetland Riven Paving. Sealing helps protect against staining and makes the stone easier to maintain, while preserving the natural colour and texture. A breathable, impregnating sealer is the appropriate choice.
