Our Bancroft Riven York Stone Steps are quarried and hand-finished by our own stonemasons using premium quality York Stone slab rock. 'Hand-fettled' is a traditional finish for York Stone paving, achieved using a hammer and chisel. It's time-consuming and precise work, but provides a beautifully riven and textured face, and fettled edges.

Our natural Riven Hand Fettled York Stone Steps are quarried in Bradford, and many pieces contain the veining and colour variations that give York Stone its distinctive character.

If your steps are going to be laid in a high traffic area or there are a lot of trees and foliage, we recommend applying a natural stone sealant to protect them from staining and add grip in poor weather.

As all of our stone is a quarried natural material, variations may occur in mineral content and there may also be slight marks or veining on the stone.

Please wet your sample to get an idea of how the stone will look when wet.
