Our morning started early today in the yard. We have just taken a delivery of new stocks of Reclaimed York Stone. The lads in the yards are busy grading and palleting the stone, we just hope the weather holds up! The grading system is derived through a number of characteristics such as thickness and the appearance of the face.
This York Stone is approx 2-3 inches in thickness with a smooth, foot worn face. This is a perfect stone if you are limited to the tolerance available, it can be used inside as well as externally. This grading works very well with underfloor heating because once it’s been warmed, it retains the heat.
Street Grade York Stone is 2- 4 inches in thickness, with more of a weathered face. This is primarily used for external paving, however, it has been used successfully inside for a barn conversions, farmhouse kitchens and garden kitchen projects. Street Grade is regularly used for patio’s and terraces because the more weathered riven texture affords more grip.
All our Reclaimed York stone has been lifted and prepared by ourselves, we pride ourselves on the quality and grade of our Reclaimed York stone.
